Djarilmari has a contract with the Forest Products Commission to collect hardwood lumber burls from the Goldfields regions of Western Australia. Collecting requirements are stringent in order to protect the environment and no tree is harmed by removing the hardwood lumber burl. Trees that have had burls removed can become more vigorous in growth as the burls may drain nutrients from the tree.
